St. Joseph’s National School has an immense tradition in Gaelic Games and in football in particular. The Girls football team have been finalists five times in the Meath Cumann na mBunscol primary schools competition in the last 18 years. Winning on five occasions 2002, 2004, 2006, 2017 and 2018. The Boys team first qualified for the final in 2004 losing to Robinstown N.S. but were victorious in the 2006 final against Coole N.S. Having gained an extra teacher we moved to division 4 in the boys’ football and we were Div. 4 champions for 2008/2009. We also won this competition again in 2014.
We also compete in Mini-7’s competition for boys and girls and our girls team competed in the Meath finals of this competition in Dunshaughlin in 2002. Mrs. Conlan, Miss. McMahon, Miss Quinn and Mr. O’Bric are the team coaches and the school would like to acknowledge the training that many pupils also receive involved with St. Ultans, St. Cuthbert’s, Dunderry and O’Mahonys. |

Boyerstown School has enjoyed immense success over the years in the annual F.A.I. Schools 5-A-side soccer competition. The boys have won the Meath title on four occasions 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2015 with the latter team winning the Leinster title and progressing to represent their school and their province in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. This was a very special occasion for the eight boys involved and for the whole school community who traveled in great numbers to support the boys on the national stage. The Boyerstown girls’ soccer team of 2017 has now emulated the boys’ feat in becoming Meath and now Leinster champions. The very talented group played on Wednesday May 31st 2017 in the Aviva Stadium as they bid to be All Ireland champions. Many thanks to Mark Ratty and Mr ÓBric for their coaching work with the teams and through the years.
