Thank you to Aoife and Mary and from Music Generation and Miss O Brien, our school music coordinator, for setting up the lovely performances by each of the classes with their violins and percussion instruments on Monday.May 31st. Barry Cronin, photographer, was on hand to capture some of the magic, enthusiasm and enjoyment of the children with their instruments. Th whole project has been a resounding success. The music lessons have been a great outlet for the children to express themselves and to forge a further connection with their friends. We plan to build on this musical success in the coming 2021/22 school year. Many thanks to the Parents Council for their strong support. Mary will have her final set of lessons with us for this year on Thursday June 10th. We are now working towards our 5th Green Schools flag for Biodoversity. Our Green Schools Committee and our Green Schools co-ordinator Miss Sherlock have been learning about Biodoversity for Biodiversity week. Each class have completed a Biodiversity awareness survey and learned more about Biodiversity. Boyerstown NS now has it's own bee and insect hotel to encourge new habitats and biodoversity in our school! Miss Quinn's senior infants and 1st class have been learning all about bees and they have even made their own bee headbands! |
